USOHRCV Celebrates Coast Guard Day with Families at TRACEN Yorktown

Happy 229th Birthday, Coast Guard!
Team USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia (USOHRCV) was invited to the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown for their annual Coast Guard Day Celebration on August 2, 2019. The event invited Coast Guard Active Duty, Reservists, and their dependents to a day full of live music, food, and activities such as face painting, bounce houses, rock wall climbing, and bubble soccer.
At this year’s celebration, Team USOHRCV continued their support of Coast Guard families by providing Girl Scout Cookies and books for each child to build their own library.
“Coast Guard families seemed to really love that we provided books of various reading levels so children of all ages could enjoy a book,” said Erica Venezuela, Marketing and Communications Assistant of USOHRCV.
With programs like the USO Reading Program, or participating in the Coast Guard Day Celebration, USOHRCV continues to support military families, and connect them to their local USO through reading!
