USO Family Activity Box Brings Military Families Together
The USO created the Family Activity Box program with one goal in mind: to afford military families a bonding experience for both the parents and children. In August 2019, the program was put into action at the USO Fort Lee and USO JEBLC centers.
From craft activities, to plush toys, to individual items like collapsible coffee mugs, no two boxes were alike. Each box was a customized and connective “care package” experience for military families, filled with engaging activities and hand-selected comfort items for each family member.
A limited amount of boxes were customized and distributed at the USO Fort Lee and USO JEBLC centers for families to take home. All activities inside of the box would be done together at home.
“It’s a special program. Military families will remember moments like these at times when they can’t all be together,” said Erica Venezuela, Marketing and Development Coordinator of USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia.
