Donuts for Dads: Celebrating Father's Day with Dads of the Military!
In celebration of Father’s Day, USO HRCV centers launched Donuts For Dads on Friday, June 18. Active duty dads, reserve/national guard dads, and dependent dads stopped by their nearest center to pick up a free donut provided by our friends at Dunkin’. USO HRCV staff and volunteers were excited to wish dads a Happy Father’s Day as they stopped by.
In addition, dads could also pick up a free craft or book for their child(ren). Crafts included a bird house kit with a paint set and a fun wooden cut-out of fun characters like mermaids, astronauts, starfish, and more.
“We really appreciate the USO for doing this,” beamed one father that stopped by the USO Healthy Military Families Center (HMFI) on Joint Base Expeditionary Little Creek (JEBLC). “This is a great start to the holiday weekend!”
Celebrations like these would not be possible without proud partners like Dunkin’ who provided delicious donuts, or the SoHo Center who provided children’s books for military kids to enjoy. Other partners include T-Mobile, Newport News Shipbuilding, and Harris Teeter. USO HRCV is proud to celebrate all dad of the military in a special way!
