USO, ASUS, and eNASCAR Team Together, Deliver State-of-the-Art Simulated Racing to Service Members at Fort Eustis USO Center
The United Service Organizations (USO), ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG), and eNASCAR teamed together on June 24 to deliver two custom built, state-of-the-art racing simulators to the USO Center located at Fort Eustis, Va.
While playing video games has been a favorite pastime for service members for many years, gaming has recently seen a significant rise on military installations and in USO centers around the world. Thanks to the donation made possible by ASUS ROG and the NASCAR Salutes campaign presented by Coca-Cola with equipment donated by Playseat and Logitech, service members at Fort Eustis can now enjoy the fast-paced world of iRacing, experiencing what it’s like to be a professional NASCAR driver inside the seat of a stock car, or what a Grand Prix driver sees over the dash.
“These racing simulators are amazing, it feels like you are in an actual race car, the steering wheel even vibrates, it’s very realistic,” said Private Mason Klug, from Arizona, currently attending aviation mechanics school at Fort Eustis. “Whether you are new to gaming or have been playing for a while, these simulators are easy to set up and use.”
Since 2006, ASUS Republic of Gamers has played an active role in the global gaming community through partnerships at events and with gaming personalities and organizations, with the goal of fostering greater gaming experiences for all, including our nation’s service members.
“It’s been an honor to work with the USO, eNASCAR and The Coca-Cola Company to bring the joys and exhilaration of sim racing to service members and their families. At ASUS, we’re constantly seeking ways to bring high-quality, innovative experiences to the hands of gamers, and we’re proud to be a part of this initiative that supports service members and their loved ones,” said Kelvin Jeon, Brand Marketing Manager at ASUS North America.
The two simulators delivered to the USO center at Fort Eustis were part of four, one-of-a-kind simulators that first debuted at the 2021 Coca-Cola 600 fan zone. The USO, Coca-Cola, iRacing, ASUS ROG, Logitech, Playseat and Sim Seats all played a major role in ensuring race fans, service members and their families enjoyed the simulators during the weekend of the race.
After the race weekend, NASCAR Salutes Together with Coca-Cola donated all four simulators to the USO. The USO designated Fort Eustis and Fort Bragg to house these simulators to provide military service members and their families a unique way to experience the thrill of NASCAR and iRacing.
“Having the opportunity to work with ASUS, eNASCAR and The Coca-Cola Company to provide our service members and their families state-of-the-art racing simulators is truly an honor,” said Ross Ledford, Regional Gaming Manger, USO Southeast Region. “It is our mission to deliver gaming and eSports to our service members no matter where they are, and without great partners, that mission would not be possible.”
