USOHRCV Volunteer of the Quarter: Debra Dewalt
We’re proud to kick off 2018 by announcing our Volunteer of the Quarter, Debra Dewalt!
Debora volunteers at our USO center at Norfolk International airport. She is a long time volunteer who has trained many newcomers to the Norfolk Airport center, many of whom went on to cover late night shifts.
During our 2017 Operation: I’ll be home for Christmas, Debora mobilized a team of volunteers from a ship command to prepare the center for the arrival of several hundreds making the journey home to their families. Together, they unpacked and inventoried all of our holiday decorations, and transformed our center into a home for the holidays.
Debora has proven herself a tremendous asset to the Norfolk Airport USO by volunteering to take many late night shifts, often staying until Midnight to make sure all service members arriving to the area are taken care of. She is frequently mentioned by name in our center satisfaction surveys, and is always willing to go the extra mile. She is truly a Force behind our local forces. Thank you, Debbie and all of our volunteers who tirelessly contribute their time in service to those who serve!
