Birdies for Charity Presented by TowneBank
PGA TOUR Champions First Round Playoff Event
The Country Club of Virginia, James River Course
709 S Gaskins Rd, Richmond, VA 23238
October 18-21, 2018

We are happy to announce that we will be participating in the 2018 Birdies for Charity Presented by TowneBank again this year! We are so happy that Birdies for Charity invited us back again for this years tournament. If you do not remember this tournament from last year, Birdies for Charity is designed to give area charities an opportunity to generate contributions through flat donations or base on the number of “birdies” made by PGA TOUR Champion players during the Dominion Energy Charity Classic which focuses on making a positive impact within the Richmond community.

How does it work? Starting now, you can support this event by giving a “one-time fixed donation” OR a “score-based donation” per birdie based on the number of birdies made by PGA TOUR Champion Professionals during the Dominion Energy Charity Classic October 19-21, 2018. For every donation made to the Dominion Energy Charity Classic, from now until the tournament, a 10% will be added to ALL DONATIONS USOHRCV receives. More information is listed below on how to donate!

  • Donations can be made online by Credit/Debit Card at the USO Birdies for Charity link
  • Checks are also accepted. Must be made out to PGA TOUR CHARITIES INC., with USOHRCV listed in the memo line. Then mail to:
    Dominion Energy Charity Classic
707 East Main Street, Suite 1025
    Richmond, Virginia 23219
    Attn: Birdies for Charity
  • You will receive a receipt for tax-deduction purposes by email if paid online & by mail if paid by check
  • If making a “Per-Birdie” donation, the amount will be processed post-tournament once the number of birdies made during the tournament has been determined but you can submit your per-birdie donation now

For those of you that do not play golf, you may be wondering what a Birdie is. To start, a “Par” is the normal expected score on any given hole on the golf course. A “birdie” is a score of one stroke better than “par” for any golf hole. For example, on a par-4 hole, a score of 3 is a birdie. The players want a lower score, so that means higher donations for us. In 2017, 789 birdies were made during the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. For example, if you did a donation of $.10 per birdie, the total donation would equal $78.90.

For any questions, please email us at Contactus@usohrcv.org. Thank you for your support of being a Force Behind The Forces!
